Found quite an illuminating interview from David Hillman, the man from Nova who went on to redesign the Guardian and, until relatively recently, working at Pentagram. Turns out I followed him in a couple of ways: London College of Printing (now London College of Communication), and; British Journal of Photography, which he redesigned before I started work there in the early 90s… this is still in the days of blue grids, grant enlargers and working with faxed(!) galleys… does anyone know how to do type mark-up now? Anyway, read it and weep, things change: sometimes for the better, sometimes not.
