Just receiving constant spam to one of our entries about Barack Obama’s brand over the water… so we’ve deleted the entry. May be a little drastic but perhaps it will stem the flow. Editing this a few days later… and spam is still coming in. I’m guessing it’s something that we just have to live with?

Our studio is crammed! Hence the severe lack of posts recently, although not quite thick and fast to begin with anyway. We have a whole host of projects that are at that ‘almost but not quite’ finished stage, so hopefully there’ll be a surge of new stuff soon. As for keeping abreast of what’s out there – well, loads that have caught my eye but I’m just diving in and out with no time to think things through and refer them here! Trying also to get our heads around a couple of different CMS systems, one of them looks to be the bees knees too. Just about to play catch-up on some identities that have gone off to be approved by various committees – wish me luck!

Some stunning photography of London… at night… from above. Portfolio here at File Magazine. We lived there for a good fifteen years and had a great time, brilliant place and now don’t live too far away as I don’t think it’ll be out of our system completely. Via Coudal.

The Salisbury International Arts Festival 2008 has just launched and we produced the programme – all 68 pages of it! It had to be easy to understand (opted for chronological in the main) and easy to read, while still being a sales tool. Using the ‘highlighter’ effect achieved this as well as allowing us to group information in chunks… and also segment the various sponsors (rather than just slapping them on there!) We also produced some of the launch collateral in the same style (projected presentations at the events) and there’ll be programmes, signage and whatnot else! The website, in case you would like to book anything, is here.

We are currently developing the website for this interior design company, to include a small CMS and e-commerce ability, but I thought I’d post the identity work here (as we’ve just updated our main site a bit). All their stationery was printed ‘using Waterless Offset, 100% renewable energy and vegetable oil based inks on paper with 100% recycled content’ (phew!) by an FSC certified printer no less!

Garfield funnier without Garfield

Another stretch between posts – really, it’s good to be busy! And who’d have thunk it? Garfield minus Garfield funnier? Via The Morning News.

(Two posts in one day!) Found Frank Chimero, a graphic designer/illustrator through his ongoing ‘States’ project, where he likens California to a stubbed out cigarette and is making his way around the rest of his country… his other stuff is wonderfully ‘tactile’ too and I can almost smell the ink! Swiss design has always been good…
Having just done Typecast myself and came out as ‘Helvetica’…I came across this again (above), ‘the only book on Swiss graphic design for the chemical industry’ – it took some finding but Grain Edit had it so I’m linking to them. The word is beautiful. Via Coudal.

I know, I know… it’s been a further few weeks since our last post but, hey, we’ve been kind of busy. Currently working on the launch brochure for the Salisbury International Arts Festival (almost there!) which will be followed by work on their website. And launching at the end of this week, a business members club in London called One Alfred Place. We were late to the party on this one so have been picking up the reins a bit. Tomorrow sees delivery of the membership pack which, without spending too long on the initial design, has die-cuts, embossing and spot UV on a simple two-colour project (sample image above) – and it doesn’t look like overkill either.
